1. Solemnities and Feasts This Week
- Friday, 14 August: Feast of the Vigil of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
- Saturday, 15 August: The Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
2. Eucharistic Adoration on Friday
There will be Eucharistic Adoration on Friday, 14 August, from 17:00 to 17:45. During Adoration, Confessions will be available from 17:00 to 17:30. All parishioners are warmly encouraged to participate in the Adoration and the Holy Mass.
3. Parish Day for Grandparents and the Elderly
The World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly 2026 was observed on Sunday, 26 July, under the theme: “I will never forget you” (cf. Isaiah 49:15). St. Ansgar Parish will celebrate its Parish Day for Grandparents and the Elderly on Saturday, 22 August 2026. All grandparents and parishioners aged 70 years and above are warmly invited.
Programme
- 13:00 – Holy Mass for grandparents and the elderly
- Followed by the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick
- Refreshments and fellowship afterwards in the Kindergarten Hall (KiGa)

Special Announcements for the English-Speaking Community
- During this month of August, we remember in a special way all those celebrating their birthdays. May the Lord bless them with good health, happiness, protection, and many more fruitful years.
- Our next 5-minute Devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary will take place on Sunday, 9 August 2026, immediately after the 11:00 High Mass.
- Our next English Mass will be celebrated on Sunday, 23 August 2026, at 15:00. This will be followed by our monthly fellowship and get-together in the parish hall. Everyone is warmly invited.
- The Annual Mass and Get-Together of the English-speaking and French-speaking African Communities with the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Oslo, Most Rev. Fredrik Hansen, will take place on Saturday, 19 September 2026, in Oslo. We kindly ask for your prayers and support for the successful celebration of this important event.
